A Message From Our President

Greetings & Salutations:

I am Sydnei Bracey, a senior, Civil Engineering student from Raymond, Mississippi and I am
honored to serve as President of the Gamma Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated! The Gamma Rho Chapter is known as the premier Greek-lettered organization on
the campus of Jackson State University. Our platform theme for this semester is Service x
Scholarship x Sisterhood = Excellence x 3,
and we have exemplified just that.

The Gamma Rho Chapter has reigned supreme in service, programming, sisterly relations and
academics. Our hard work gains recognition on the regional level at conferences as well as by
JSU’s National Pan-Hellenic Council. The impact that we have had on the surrounding
community has also been remarkable. We have donated countless shoes and eyeglasses, fed
those at Stewpot’s Opportunity Center, provided information on how to live a healthier
lifestyle, and so much more. We are an award-winning chapter, having won Chapter of
Excellence, Chapter of the Year, and Sorority of the Year for the past couple of years.
Doubtlessly, we have created a tradition of flourishing, excelling, and reigning supreme.

In 2022, I am eager to leap further into the business of service within our community in order to
further move this sorority into an even better place with a greater purpose. We have a mission
in life that involves helping others and “being of service to all mankind.” What good is it to gain
everything for ourselves and leave our neighbors behind? I believe we move forward as we help
others move forward. That is our mission this year. We have a lot in store for this semester as a
chapter, and we are excited to execute them. I believe that as we join together, this year will be
the best year ever for this chapter. For the best is yet to come for us! I believe that, how about
you? Let’s get Moving!
Yours in service,
Sydnei A. Bracey
President, Gamma Rho Chapter
